Hi Super Supporters!

Today I am really pleased to announce that this week I will be virtually meeting TWO decision makers; The Co-operative and Morrisons!

I was set to deliver the petition and meet both face-to-face at their HQ’s this week, however in light of the current situation that of course had to change. I requested with both that we continue with our original plan, but instead have it online and I am thrilled that they agreed!

It’s fantastic that they and other decision makers have been keen and willing to carry on campaign discussions regardless of what is happening right now, it is encouraging.

Some campaign information on the decision makers I am meeting:

The Co-operative:
Since the campaign started in early 2018, The Co-operative have been one of the few decision makers to engage and correspond with me regularly. Although open to meeting, it took some time to secure one.

Morrisons:
Morrisons have been a trickier decision maker. I have contacted them regularly since the campaigns start, but never received a response until very recently. Thousands of you got involved with action on Morrisons in March 2019 by tweeting and sending them emails. Although they confirmed they had received them, they later made the decision to ‘close’ and ignore them. I sent letters, emails, called them and even turned up at their HQ in Bradford with the petition, requesting to speak to someone, but they declined, would not let me in or take the petition box. I continued to contact them after this and earlier this year finally got an email back and they then accepted a meeting request.

I am excited to speak to both decision makers about the campaign, the need to remove plastic from their own-brand period products and how they can bring about change, plus I’ve got lots of questions to ask!
