Hi Super Supporters!
To celebrate International Women's Day the campaign and I have been featured in Virgin's International Women's Day series and in Surfer's Against Sewage's Pipeline Magazine.. *pinch me* because I still can't quite believe it!
Environmental charity Surfers Against Sewage has celebrated International Women's Day with their first all-women edition of Pipeline Magazine! It features their top list of 18 Women Earth Defenders and I’m delighted to have been included! I'm honoured to be amongst the inspiring and incredibly talented women in this issue, which includes Liz Bonnin, Ellie Goulding and Imogen Napper!
I'm also thrilled that the campaign has been included in Virgin's International Women's Day series, which was written by Anna Turns. This article discusses the campaign, the action we are taking and impacts we are having, as well as wider issues including the importance of period education and not flushing these items down the toilet.
Update on the campaign & action happening next week:
I'm keeping an eye on manufacturers and supermarkets and continue to contact them about their unnecessary use of plastic and why we must make change happen. I'm meeting Procter & Gamble next month which is huge, to discuss the campaign and the issues of period plastic.
Next week there is going to be action calling on a supermarket to take responsibility and make change happen by going plastic-free and in the mean time to offer alternatives, so that customers have a choice, because currently they don't!
Thank you for your continued support and for making this possible, the campaign is going from strength to strength and we are truly making a difference, with each email, tweet and comment, conversations are being started and awareness is being raised!
Ella :)
