Hello Super Supporters!
I am delighted to report that the campaign has been featured on Vogue's 'Girl On A Mission' https://bit.ly/2oWzlXT and in September's Vegan Life Magazine. I have been working on spreading the campaigns message to further audiences far and wide, showing everyone how the unnecessary plastic in period products is having a harmful impact on the environment and wildlife.
Another issue that I have been addressing on Twitter (https://twitter.com/ecoelleuk/status/1034393590867402757 is the Do-Not flush symbol, this symbol is positioned on the back of period products, where as it should be visibly displayed on the front and on individual products inside. According to the Institution of Environmental Sciences it is estimated that 700,000 panty liners, 2.5 million tampons and 1.4 million sanitary towels are flushed down UK toilets every day! They can enter rivers, oceans and end up on beaches, this litters and negatively effects our oceans and over time breaks down into micro-plastics that in turn get ingested by marine life.
I am in contact with brands and supermarkets, showing them just how many of us desire positive change to happen.
Thank you for all your support, there are still so many unaware of this important issue so please continue to share, start conversations and together let's break the plastic cycle, period!
Ella
