Hello wonderful supporters!
On Saturday (14th July) the campaign was fantastically featured as part of Wales Online's article 'Let's talk about periods: The women trying to break the taboo in Wales' in this we discuss the lack of education and taboo with other guests highlighting the issue of period poverty and I touch on the environmental impact of plastic in menstrual products.

And last week (9th July) the campaign was featured on Pebble Magazine's 'Planet Friendly Periods: Say no to single use plastic for your flow' post. It was brilliant to catch up with them about the campaign and answer their questions including:
'What are the barriers to wide scale period plastic waste change?'
“Essentially the barriers are the accessibility to eco-friendly products and the taboo in discussing periods which leads to women being unaware of hidden plastic in period products. This feeds low consumer demand and doesn’t motivate manufacturers to change especially considering that plastic is so cheap.”
'What’s been the reaction to your campaign from men?'
“The reaction from men to the campaign has been brilliant, with nothing but positivity, praise and encouragement, and moreover, many have voiced their concerns that they too were unaware of the plastic content of these products.”
Pebble has also included in this post 10 eco-friendly period brands, if you are looking for plastic-free alternatives please be aware that some of the options listed do contain single-use plastic. Introductions to each brand does contain some information about this.

The third week of plastic free July has just started, what single-use plastics have you shunned and what alternatives have you opted for?
Thank you as always for your continued support!
