A woman has certain legal rights over her own body but she shouldn’t have a legal right to destroy the life of the unborn life inside of her.  

The life of the unborn needs legal rights to its body as well!  It is a separate being.  

Killing the life of the innocent unborn is still murder even in instances of rape or incest.  The unborn life is innocent regardless of how it was conceived.  Rape and incest are absolute tragedies and the poor girl or woman that it happened to needs love, support and counsel to endure through the painful experience and recover.  More importantly, the unborn life is still innocent and needs legal rights. It did not commit a crime and doesn’t deserve a grisly death in an effort to make the mother feel better emotionally.

As far as making abortion legal in cases where the mother’s life is at stake, I’ll quote from an article at www.lifenews.com to explain why the “abortion procedure” is never “needed”.

“There is one massive misconception about the “life of the mother” exception:  the belief that abortion is sometimes necessary to save the life of the mother.”

“The abortion procedure is not - ever - necessary to save the life of a mother.  There are, however, maternal health risks that require a treatment that cause the unfortunate, indirect, and unintentional death of an unborn child.  For instance, in life-threatening ectopic pregnancies that require the removal of a Fallopian tube, the pregnancy (including the unborn child) will be removed along with the Fallopian tube.  The intention in this procedure is first and foremost to save the life of the mother, and in order to do so, a physician must perform a procedure that indirectly causes the death of her unborn child.  This is not an abortion.”

The abortion procedure is violent and never “needed”.  It is the murder of a helpless life.  Trying to soften this fact by putting it under the title of “Pro-choice” is preposterous.  It’s misleading and deceptive.
