In 2025, Marvel Studios started filming on the film "Avengers: Doomsday", currently scheduled for release in December 2026.  Several of the cast members from the film were confirmed by Marvel Studios, including cast members from 20th Century Fox's original "X-Men" film series from 2000 to 2006.  So far, the cast members confirmed to be returning for "Avengers: Doomsday" are Patrick Stewart as Professor Charles Xavier/Professor X, Ian McKellen as Erik Lehnsherr/Magneto, James Marsden as Scott Summers/Cyclops, Rebecca Romijn as Raven Darkholme/Mystique, Alan Cumming as Kurt Wagner/Nightcrawler, and Kelsey Grammer as Dr. Henry McCoy/Beast.  Channing Tatum will also reprise his role as Remy LeBeau/Gambit from the 2024 film "Deadpool & Wolverine" and Hugh Jackman is rumored to reprise his role as James "Logan" Howlett/Wolverine.  The X-Men are also reportedly wearing their costumes from the "X-Men" comic books, possibly from the Blue Team and Gold Team era of X-Men comics from the 1990s.

While it is currently unknown if any of the other "X-Men" actors will return, fans hope to see the other cast members return, including Halle Berry as Ororo Munroe/Storm, Famke Janssen as Jean Grey/Phoenix, Anna Paquin as Rogue, Shawn Ashmore as Bobby Drake/Iceman, Daniel Cudmore as Piotr "Peter" Rasputin/Colossus, and Tyler Mane as Victor Creed/Sabretooth.

With the X-Men getting a reboot film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe after The Multiverse Saga, we, the fans, would like to see the original "X-Men" cast get their own "X-Men" film in their own world that's not set in the main/616 Marvel Universe before the "X-Men" reboot film in the next Phase of Marvel Studios films.
