For years now, the older player demographic of Star Stable Online that started playing during the early/mid 2010's has been shocked, sad and disappointed with the way the game has changed during the course of the last few years. The focus has been shifted to one field of features in the game ( e.g. horse breeds), while the others haven't seen any changes/have been temporarily abandoned. 

Therefore, we, as older players, propose the release of a ''Star Stable Online Classic', which would be made using old files from one of these years (2014, 2015, 2016 or 2017). The files could easily be found, if any version of them exists, and then they could be used to make the game.

We know that a lot of thought, dedication and time would need to be involved with making this version, but we think that the end result would be beneficial for the SSO team, as well as the older player base. 

Some skepticism is expected, and many questions may arise, for example:

1) How will this be beneficiary to the SSO team and developers? - 

I believe that, with the making of an old, classic SSO version, the SSO team will be able to generate profit. The amount of dissatisfied players is growing on a daily basis, and making this version could and would satisfy many players. 
Furthermore, no updates will need to be implemented into this version, aside from an occasional bugfix or so. I believe that the older players are quite satisfied with having the older amount of horse breeds, tack and clothing. This could prove quite beneficiary to the SSO team, as they could then focus their attention on improving the newer version of the game. 

 

 

2) How would payment work? Would Star Rider function the same way as it does now? - It could work both ways. Star Rider could be paid monthly, trimonthly or once for a lifetime, like it does now. But, it would also be worth considering having a set price for the game, which the players need to pay immediately. Star Coins purchases should also be implemented as they are now.

 

 

3) Maintaining servers costs money, how could the SSO team go about that? - Maintaining multiple servers at once could prove tricky, and could degenerate the profit. Therefore, the game could go two ways - have one, global, English speaking server, or, just make the game offline and one player only. The ideal option is number 1, because, the latter one takes out the whole ''online'' aspect about the game that is crucial in many parts of the gameplay experience. But if, for whatever reason, having a global server proves to be more challenging, I believe that players would be satisfied with a offline option.

It is also very important to say that many older players would be happy to pay for this version, and start their whole accounts from scratch. That alone should show how many of us are willing to have the old SSO back.
