The Issue

It’s time for a new Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games video game. This time it will take place in Milano Cortina Italy in 2026. It will be the seventh installment of the Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games. And it will be the first Mario and Sonic video game to be released in 6 years since the last release was Mario and Sonic at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

Mario and Sonic have skipped their first Olympics in Paris 2024. But we can’t let them skip anymore Olympic years. We need one in Milano Cortina, Italy 2026 and one in Los Angeles, California 2028.

This franchise deserves to make a comeback. We must convince the International Olympics Committee (IOC) to change their minds and stop using NFTs/esports, and renew the license to Mario and Sonic. We must get this franchise revived and resurrected in this decade.

Mario and Sonic had their first Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver in 2010 since it was released for the Nintendo Wii and the Nintendo DS in 2009. They also had their second Olympic Games in Sochi in 2014. It was released for the Nintendo Wii U in 2013. However we didn’t get a Peyoncahg 2018 nor a Beijing 2022.

If we convince the International Olympics Comittee (IOC) to revive and resurrect the franchise and make it happen again we can play this new game. This new video game should be released for the Nintendo Switch and the Nintendo Switch 2. This will include new playable characters sports, dream events, and story mode. We  will not let Mario and Sonic skip anymore Olympic years. This year we should come together as Mario and Sonic fans and convince the International Olympics Comittee (IOC) to bring back this franchise and make more money. We must save this franchise from dying.

Mario and Sonic had their first Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008. They also had their first Olympic Winter Games in 2010. Peyongchang was not made. Beijing was even the worst. Paris was even the worst. The IOC cancelled the franchise which was a bad thing to do. They wanted to bring it back to themselves. They wanted to look at other partners and make more money. It made Mario fans and Sonic fans angry. They got angry from this too.

Lee Cocker who worked for the International Olympics Committee made six installments and worked on it for almost 20 years.

We need millions and millions of fans to come together to save this franchise from dying. So let’s get into the action and sign this petition and share it with others.

let’s do this.
