At the end of the 2020 baseball season, a contract between Major (MLB) and Minor League Baseball (MILB) expires. The new Major League Baseball proposal would eliminate 42 teams from the Minor League Baseball system. Most of these teams are located in small communities and often represent the main source of entertainment/community gatherings. Teams such as these provide kids across the country with their first interactions with baseball.
The Minor League Baseball represents a relaxing, enjoyable experience for the fans. It puts the fans in close proximity with the players, and allows for interaction that shape our future baseball players across the country. The elimination of these 42 MILB teams would be detrimental to kids, fans, and communities across the country.
Major League Baseball needs to focus on improving the conditions of these teams, and how they are integrated into the baseball ecosystem, instead of eliminating them completely. Thousands of people work for these teams across the country, and rely on the extra income during the baseball season, these people would all be out of a job. The new proposal says some form of baseball would be continued, however it would not be a part of the MILB, and just would never feel the same for the communities and long time fans. Help save these teams:

Binghamton Rumble Ponies
Chattanooga Lookouts
