MAINTENANCE AND DRAINAGE OF JUNIOR SPORTING FIELDS

The issue

“MAINTENANCE & DRAINAGE OF JUNIOR SPORTING FIELDS “

In recent years, the usual, increased extreme rainfall patterns has overwhelmed drainage of Junior Sporting Fields. Unfortunately, dramatically reducing matches played, and match experience of our sporting youth.

Obviously methods and practices, utilised successfully in past times, will not allow for change without council, government and clubs proactively willing to get their hands dirty, ‘and’, expense to develop and improve playing facilities, primarily focused on field surfaces. Effectively reducing maintenance and repair costs, reducing lost sporting experience and matches to poor weather, minimising the occurrence of avoidable injuries, loss of players and their families to other sports less affected or impacted by rain. Giving focus to quality Junior and Senior sporting performance, “now and into the future”. Furthermore, maintaining and insuring, strong mental and physical health for communities within this terrific region.

I wish to proactively stimulate a constructive discussion and progression towards a measured, fair and with preference given to grounds in need of the most urgent work first.

All community members stand to benefit from provision of quality and robust recreational and sporting facilities.
