The Issue

We, members and supporters of the JROTC community, had eagerly bought our tickets, selected our dresses, and marked our calendars with the date and time of the Military Ball. Anticipation lingered in the air, and our excitement mounted. Then our hopes were shattered when it was abruptly announced that the ball was to be cancelled.

It was more than just an event. It was a promise that had been broken. It was an occasion that brought us together, that celebrated our unity, our collective strength. The Military Ball symbolizes tradition, respect and camarity, established over decades of military service.

We understand the current global situation and the restrictions it brings. Nonetheless, we believe that there must be considerations for the importance of maintenance of traditions and morale within our force. Therefore, we strongly urge that the decision to cancel the Military Ball be reconsidered.

If safety is your concern, let us turn to creative solutions. We can adhere to safety protocols, introduce online components, or even organize smaller, more manageable functions. Let us together find a way where we do not break the promise again.

Sign this petition to stand behind the honoring of promises and ensure the Military Ball takes its rightful place again.
