As residents of the Golden Pond neighborhood, our children have formed incredible bonds within the Lakeview Elementary School (LVE) community. These relationships are not just between classmates; they extend to teachers, administrators, and other staff members who all contribute to a nurturing and supportive learning environment for our kids.

Historically, the Golden Pond neighborhood has always been zoned for LVE. This zoning has allowed generations of children from our area to benefit from the excellent education provided by LVE. However, recent proposals threaten this long-standing arrangement and risk disrupting our children's educational continuity.

According to data from GreatSchools.org, LVE consistently outperforms average state scores in both reading and math proficiency tests. This high level of academic achievement is a testament to the quality of education that LVE provides - an opportunity we believe should continue being available for future generations in Golden Pond.

Another thing to consider, schools play a crucial role in determining the value of a property. The quality of education provided by a school can significantly impact the value of nearby properties. Keeping in mind the potential impact on our property value, it's crucial that we closely examine any potential changes. 

We understand that school district boundaries need occasional adjustments due to population changes or other factors. However, we firmly believe that any such changes should take into account existing community ties and potential impacts on students' educational experiences. 

Keeping us in the LVE attendance area would not be a burden since it has one of the lowest capacities among elementary schools and Golden Pond has less than 30 students.

We urge you not only as parents but also as concerned citizens who value quality education - please keep Golden Pond within Lakeview Elementary School attendance boundaries. Your support can ensure that our children continue benefiting from an excellent education at a school they love and respect.
