The Issue

Deputy Landis is more than just a school deputy within our educational community. He's a lifeline for students, a kind and selfless individual who carries an aura of positivity throughout the hallways. With each passing day, he makes the environment into a warmer, easier place for us.

Deputy Landis's impact on our student body reaches far beyond official duties. He is the heart of our school, someone we trust and respect, and his removal would leave a void no other can fill. His benevolent nature, coupled with his innate ability to make school more tolerable, is testimony enough to his unparalleled contribution.

These decisions will effect many students. You must account for the unique relationships such officers may share with the students. Research has shown that supportive and positive relationships involving school-based law enforcement officers can help improve the overall climate of the school, reducing disruptions and improving the learning experience (National Association of School Resource Officers, 2018).

We cannot afford to lose Deputy Landis, a vital pillar of our school's culture and all the goodwill it stands for. We urge you to reconsider any decision that would take him away from us. Sign the petition, support our cause, let Deputy Landis remain where he's needed the most, doing what he does best - shaping lives with his tireless service.
