We, the student body, have devoted immense efforts towards pursuing acceptance into the MATA pathway at the Academies of Loudoun. For each one of us, this is a critical chapter of our educational journey, rife with dreams and aspirations toward the unique pathway requirements of this course. The potential plan to switch to a lottery system and discontinue the need for resumes, career-goal statements, and the existing minimum GPA score could compromise the quality and intent of these much sought-after educational pathways.

The current prerequisites serve a pivotal role, allowing students to establish a firm educational and career-oriented foundation. Eliminating them may lead to a gap in the quality of candidates, potentially discouraging those who have spent years preparing to meet these specific requirements. 

We believe in our abilities and take responsibly our commitment to academic excellence. We urge the Academies of Loudoun MATA Pathway's Board to reconsider the proposed changes and maintain their present requirements.
