I'm a Canadian who believes in managing our natural resources to benefit our communities. I am deeply concerned about the current levels of the Columbia River in British Columbia and their potential impacts on our environment, economy, and recreational activities.

The Columbia River is a crucial natural resource, not only because of its environmental richness, but also for the businesses and recreational activities it supports. Its level needs to be maintained in a way to prevent damaging environmental impacts, ensure uninterrupted business use, and provide recreational use of the upper and lower Arrow Lakes. The imminent threats from our southern neighbours make this a matter requiring urgent action.

However, the formulation of policies and guidelines for our rivers should not just be about preventing threats; we should also see this as an opportunity to boost our local tourism and business revenues. 

Our communities deserve to flourish alongside their natural surroundings. Therefore, we request action – for the sake of our environment, our economy, and our future. Please sign this petition urging the Province of British Columbia and the Federal Government of Canada to maintain the Columbia River waterway to primarily benefit Canadians.
