Changes were made on 2/27/23 in order to address the following:

• Streamline all points to prioritize the most essential elements of the petition
• The lack of standards required for optimal education, preparedness, and capabilities of OT/OTA students and the programs & faculty guiding them
• Provide more tangible points allowing more significant opportunity for addressable actions to be taken by AOTA, NBCOT and revising the ACOTE standards appropriately.
• ACOTE Standards are being reviewed and updated in December of this year. The next round of revisions won’t occur for another five years; by then, it will be too late for us to act.
• Provide more objective information to support the increased reports from students and faculty of OT programs throughout the United States that these problem areas exist and need to be addressed.
