Many states provide a "blackout" option for license plates, which many auto enthusiasts prefer for aesthetic reasons.  The state of Maine has no such license plate option.  In order to create new plate designs, Maine requires legislative action and to win a slot in the crowded legislative field, sufficient interest and support needs to be evident.  This petition will be used to show Maine state representatives and senators that many Mainers support the creation of a new ME "blackout" license plate option.
