We believe in the best possible education and educational environment for our children. We feel that the best choice to preserve our excellent local K-6th elementary schools and to make badly needed updates to Harwood Union High School, while providing the best possible education to our middle school age children is to have all Mad River Valley 7th and 8th graders attend Crossett Brook Middle School.  This will allow our 7th and 8th graders access to an excellent existing facility dedicated to middle school-aged children, keep them together and provide needed transportation to Crossett Brook, provide badly needed savings  that could be used to upgrade Harwood Union High School and allow them to be with students of similar ages rather than much older and more mature high schoolers - all while preserving our wonderful local elementary schools.  Every year that this needed change waits increases the cost of Harwood renovations by $1 million.  We feel that the time to bring all 7th and 8th graders to Crossett Brook is now.
