Macomb Twp Transparency & Trust: We need a Public Forum on Policing Needs

The Issue

Support Increased Police Staffing in Our Township!

Over the past few weeks, we’ve been advocating for fully supporting our Township with the manpower needed to patrol our streets. In 2017, a policing committee—formed by the Township Board—evaluated our law enforcement needs. As a result, eight additional patrol deputies were added.

Since then, our community has grown, major roadways have been added, and service calls have nearly doubled. Yet, Sheriff road patrol staffing has remained unchanged. Meanwhile, other departments in the Township have seen full-time staff increases, budget expansions, and additional resources. Despite a voter-approved millage for law enforcement, the Township Board is not fully funding it as intended.

It's time for action. We urge the Board to utilize Town Hall and its presentation technology to engage the community in an open discussion about properly funding and staffing our police force.

Sign this petition and demand the public safety resources our community deserves!
