The issue
To reunite lost pets with their owners- to reduce euthanasia rate of pets in pound- to provide basic service to clients that have done the right thing and paid to register their pet with council- to reduce pets roaming after hours when council officers are not on duty- to inform an owner a deceased dog- to prevent potential injury to that lost dog- to reduce workload for council officers as they may be bypassed in this process
