The Dams Steps Macclesfield

The Dams Steps Macclesfield
The Issue
The DAMS STEPS leading from Crossall Street to Churchill Way.
These Steps are a Historical landmark of Macclesfield and should be reopened.
They lead from the Dams area of Macclesfield up to the Town Centre via Cotton Street and Silk Street onto Duke Street on Roe Street
The houses are all sadly all long gone, and is now an ugly Carpark but the "Steps" remain, they have been closed off with railings and a brick wall, and other Steps put in place further down Churchill Way leading to Elizabeth Street.
Why on earth were these Historical set of Steps not opened up on the highway instead of replacing with the other ones with no character.
Myself and members of my "Bygone Macclesfield" group would like to see them restored and opened up to the public again
I for one would gladly help to restore the railings on the Steps as would some of "my group" members
