Cancel Terrorist Leila Khaled’s Class at SFSU

The Issue

San Francisco State University is inviting recognized jihadist terrorist leader and plane hijacker Leila Khaled to teach their students in a webinar scheduled for September 23

Leila Khalid has hijacked two commercial flights with civilians on board as one of the leaders of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine.

In 1969, she hijacked TWA flight 840 from Rome to Tel Aviv, diverting the plane to Damascus before blowing it up with grenades. Working alongside the group Black September, who later carried out the Munich Massacre of Israeli athletes at the Olympics, Leila Khaled and the PFLP attempted to hijack 4 simultaneous flights to New York in the following year. Her freedom has always been traded for prisoners of war.

The PFLP have planted bombs in supermarkets and buses, and have orchestrated suicide bombings at two open markets, a bus station, and a pizzeria. They shoot at passing civilian vehicles. They bombed a British Consulate and threw grenades at the Israeli embassies in the Netherlands and Germany as well as the El Al Air office in Brussels. In 2001, they murdered the Israeli Minister of Tourism and an Israeli councillor. And as recently as January of this year, they were found to have been illegally funneling millions of dollars through eight Palestinian NGOs based in Europe, North America, and Asia.

When asked if she would be proud of her children if they were to commit acts of terrorism, she replied: “The younger one always asks ‘and if I die?’ I say ‘I will be proud of you because you’re fighting for your people and for your land.’”

There has been some backlash thus far, prompting the President of SFSU to come out with a letter, stating that the University supports “academic freedom” and condemns the “glorification and use of terrorism and violence, particularly against unarmed civilians.”

“Academic freedom” does not mean allowing a murderer to indoctrinate young students minds. If a university invited Bin Laden to speak, under the guise of being a voice of resistance to oppression, would that be academic freedom?

Academic freedom will not exist as long as those who seek to kill us are the only voice present.

The organizer of this event Professor Rabab Abdulhadi, a known antisemite and radical antiZionist, has included two token antiZionist Jews on this panel: Ronnie Kasrils, a Communist and former South African politician who has been an advisor to terrorist groups Hamas and Hezbollah, both of whom openly seek to eradicate Jews and Israel, and Laura Whitehorn, a representative of “Jewish Voice for Peace” who is described by the event as a “14 year captive political prisoner,” when she actually spent 14 years in federal prison for bombing the United States Senate.

Unsurprisingly, the “Jewish” perspective being given to students in this webinar is one that is violently antiZionist. This dangerously misrepresents the Jewish community and our views. It is frankly disgusting that Jews are not given equal representation in academia, especially in the face of radical jihadist terror, and it cannot continue to happen.

On September 23, students will be given a one sided narrative on our humanity. Propaganda is being labeled as academic freedom while our lives are on the line.

SFSU, you have two options:

1. Cancel this webinar event with Leila Khaled, and issue a public apology for your insensitivity to victims of terror and Jews, and your blatant affront to academic freedom.

2. Include an equal number of Zionist panel members of our choice, and appoint an unbiased moderator. Issue a public apology for your insensitivity to victims of terror and Jews, and your blatant affront to academic freedom.

SFSU is showing us that to them, the spilling of Jewish blood doesn't matter. Jewish lives don't matter. Jewish futures don't matter.

If you decide to go forward with your webinar as planned, we will ensure that this will forever be a stain upon your history. We will never forget.
