Everyone, We have made great strides in our fight against ISS Action. Some highlights include: • More than 1,200 signatures in total from the written and Change.org petitions, • Endorsement of our cause from former Mayor Brian Curran, • Multiple pieces of media coverage highlighting our cause and in our favor from News12 Long Island (http://longisland.news12.com/news/residents-sign-petition-against-sport-spa-1.11667635), FiOS1 News (http://www.fios1news.com/longisland/lynbrook-gun-range-uproar#.VxlqZT_LNVZ), Long Island Herald (http://liherald.com/lynbrook/stories/Gun-spa-gets-new-hearing-date,78389), CBS Radio (http://newyork.cbslocal.com/2016/04/09/gun-sports-spa-lynbrook/) and Newsday (http://www.newsday.com/long-island/nassau/lynbrook-shooting-range-and-spa-proposal-under-fire-1.11713500). That said, the fight is far from over. On May 2nd, ISS Action will put their experts in front of the Mayor and Board of Trustees and make their case to build the “Gun Spa” at 817 Sunrise Highway. In opposition, we are amassing our own panel of experts to speak on similar topics. These experts will address our various concerns including: • Environmental issues • Real estate values • Health issues Of course, May 2nd is where we need your help. The worst thing that can happen is the Mayor and Board listen to ISS Action in an empty Village Hall. We need to PACK THE HOUSE and show the Mayor that we are ALL standing in solidarity against ISS Action! Do not say “my neighbor’s going so it’s handled.” Every seat needs to be filled! We need to ensure that the Hall is full of our supporters – and not a single seat allowed for ISS Action supporters! This will send a CLEAR MESSAGE to the Mayor that no, we will not stand for a shooting range in our village! Please reply and tell us that you can make it!
