I want to create Lyla’s Law in memory of my daughter, Lyla, to change how bereaved families are treated during historic maternity and neonatal reviews.

Parents deserve answers when something may have gone wrong. They should not have to fight for information or piece together their baby's care themselves.

But families whose care is independently found to have no concerns should not unnecessarily be put through the trauma of reliving their child's death. They should have a choice about further involvement.

I want reviews to be independent, proportionate and trauma-informed, while always allowing parents to raise concerns and seek answers.

Our babies are not statistics or case numbers. They are our children, and their stories matter.

I cannot change what happened to Lyla, but I can try to make something change because of her.

Every bereaved family deserves truth, compassion, choice and protection.

That is what I want Lyla’s Law to achieve. ❤️
