On August 4th 2018 at 11:00PM I discovered that an email address I had used for more than a decade and had multiple accounts linked to was deactivated by the email host Lycos.  I then contacted their support team only to be informed that over a month ago an email was sent to all Lycos members stating that all free accounts would be terminated and all messages deleted.

Now, I know at this point you are probably thinking that I had a month to fix this one way or another but I can assure you this is not the case!  For you see, Lycos' spam filter was so useless that my account would get hundreds if not thousands of spam messages a day!  In fact, it was one of the reason why I stopped using their services for the most part and I was suppose to notice ONE warning message about the changes!  But wait... it gets better!

Not only did they delete the messages but are now charging for the same terrible service, refused to grant me even a temporary term to move my accounts away and ,after a few emails, blocked me from further contacting them about the issue via my Gmail account!  If all this wasn't bad enough I had several emails saved from my grandmother who is deceased that, according to the support agent, are now gone FOREVER.

Please if you have a heart you will help me boycott this host and show them the power of a community scorned!
