Lifts at Luton Train Station
0 have signed. Let’s get to 500!
Travellers can access platform five via the ground floor lift, but other platforms are only accessible via stairs.
More needs to be done.
I have seen the elderly struggling with their bags on the stairs and when I have asked the station staff to help me with my baby in her buggy they basically refused. I was even told to get a Taxi to Luton Airport Parkway.
Only last week was somebody seriously injured on the stairs and paramedics had to be called.
The Government report on standards and guidance on designing accessible railway stations and trains states: “We expect operators to commit themselves to a programme of continuous improvement on behalf of their disabled passengers.”
The accessibility MUST be improved - a member of rail staff asked me to start a petition. If Thameslink don't listen to their staff, lets MAKE them listen to their customers!
