[EN] For small streamers like me, the current situation on Twitch has become unsustainable.

Many of us stream live to a small audience, hoping to grow and reach a wider one. However, Twitch’s recent policy of not counting lurkers — those users who watch our streams without actively interacting — as viewers has drastically affected our numbers and, as a result, our visibility and chances of success on the platform.

Lurkers are an essential part of our audience.

They’re viewers who may not be able or willing to actively participate in chat, but who still support streamers simply by watching our content. The way Twitch currently excludes them from the viewer count not only penalizes us but also diminishes their importance and contribution to the community.

Considering that many similar platforms count these viewers as active members of the community, it’s clear that Twitch should reconsider its policy. Counting lurkers as active viewers would help not only me but also many other small streamers gain the recognition and growth opportunities we deserve.

We therefore ask Twitch to listen to our voices and change its guidelines to include everyone who supports us — even in silence. Sign this petition to show your support for a more inclusive and fair environment for all streamers on  Twitch.

[IT] Per i piccoli streamer, come me, la situazione attuale su Twitch è diventata insostenibile. Molti di noi trasmettono dal vivo a un pubblico ridotto, sperando di crescere e raggiungere un'audience più ampia. Tuttavia, la recente politica di Twitch di non contare i "lurker" - quegli utenti che guardano i nostri stream senza attivamente interagire - come spettatori ha drasticamente influenzato i nostri numeri e, di conseguenza, la nostra visibilità e possibilità di successo sulla piattaforma.

I lurker sono una parte essenziale del nostro pubblico. Sono spettatori che forse non possono o non vogliono partecipare attivamente alla chat, ma che comunque supportano gli streamer semplicemente guardando il nostro contenuto. Il modo in cui Twitch attualmente li esclude dal conteggio degli spettatori non solo ci penalizza, ma riduce anche la loro importanza e il loro contributo alla comunità.

Considerando che molte piattaforme simili considerano questi spettatori come parte attiva della community, è chiaro che Twitch dovrebbe riconsiderare la sua politica. Contare i lurker come spettatori attivi aiuterebbe non solo me, ma anche molti altri piccoli streamer, a ottenere il riconoscimento e l'opportunità di crescere che meritiamo.

Chiediamo quindi a Twitch di ascoltare la nostra voce e di modificare le sue linee guida per includere tutti coloro che ci supportano, anche in silenzio. Firmate questa petizione per mostrare il vostro sostegno a un ambiente più inclusivo e equo per tutti gli streamer su Twitch.
