Hi All
We thought we will give you a little update on our progress so far.
Firstly the good news is that the latest scans (last week) show that the treatment is still working. We are delighted but it is both a gift and a curse. Whilst the treatment is working we are still struggling to find ways to fund it. So unfortunately our funding raising efforts will need to continue

Until the government or pharmaceutical company change their way of thinking. We are at our wits end trying to get support from anyone.
We would like to thank everyone who so kindly sent emails to Daiichi Sankyo appealing to their humanity to supply Elaine with the Enhertu treatment on compassionate grounds, unfortunately as expected it fell on deaf ears and yet again they have shown it’s all about the money.
In our last update we had to redact Daiichi Sanyko’s UK Managers name because we believe she was offended having her name on show. This is the same lady who didn’t have the decency to respond to our personal hand written letter begging her to reconsider Daiichii Sanyko’s position in supplying the drug on compassionate grounds or to consider selling us the drug at manufacturers / commercial cost.
Regarding our parliamentary petition we had a response from Andrew Stephenson (the new DHSC minister who took over from Will Quince after he resigned)The response wasn’t a surprise he’s singing off the same hymn sheet as Will Quince. He obviously hasn’t bothered to read about anything we have been fighting for over the last 8 months and is feeding us the same information we are already well aware of. Basically reading between the lines he was saying “tough, it is what it is and you will have to deal with it”
He finishes off with the same nonsense that “The company (Daiichi Sanyo) had requested a delay to the appraisal of Enhertu for NSCLC to ensure it can make a comprehensive evidence submission and this appraisal is anticipated to begin in July 2024”
We would like to say this to Andrew Stephenson Minister for Health and Social Care:
PEOPLE ARE DYING because the government are allowing the pharmaceutical companies to play god and MPs like yourself are allowing this to happen.
The Enhertu drug needs to go on the CDF list now Andrew Stephenson. Elaine and other cancer patients with the same condition haven’t got the luxury of time on their side.
Please remember that In October 2023 Daiichi Sankyo were granted approval in the EU for the use of Enhertu for NSCLC HER2 based on the Destiny-lung02 study, why they needed another year to get their act together to submit their evidence to NICE is beyond us.
With all the bad publicity the Government are getting on the PPE scandal and the millions of taxpayers money they have wasted you would think funding a life saving cancer drug would be the right moral path to take.
Maybe if we were friends with Lady Mone we may have stood a chance of getting this life saving drug funded through the NHS!
The Government,NHS ,Daiichi Sankyo and Astra Zeneca are absolutely not the slightest bit interested in helping cancer patients get the best opportunity of living by getting the vital lifesaving treatment they require unless the patient pays for it.
Every door we knock on is slammed in our face’s.
We will keep fighting and our next mission is to continue to encourage NICE and the Government to get Enhertu on the CDF list which apparently has a budget of £340 million.
Thank you for all your support and we wish you all a Happy Xmas and a healthy New Year.
Elaine & Chris
