Thank YOU to everyone that came out for the meeting... here is a short run down for those who missed it. PLEASE feel free to comment and add anything that I may have missed but this is what I understood from today. First and foremost, We are all working together and maintain that for this project to succeed. 1. The City is onboard for building a skatepark located within Kiwanas Park. 2. The Budget will be determined based on the design that is chosen and feasibility to the City funds. 3. A suggested Board of Directors for East Texas Skateboarders has been written down. This committee/board will be doing some groundwork to get more funding to help pay for the ideal park for everyone to assist in the cost to the City. 4. The suggested design was that identical to Beeville, Tx skatepark. There is nothing wrong with that park, HOWEVER, The subject was brought up to not have what another city has and create something unique to the park Lufkin will have. As skaters you all know you dont like to skate the same thing, similar maybe but not exact. Once the design and budget is put in place, we will have a chance to review and make suggestions.
