Ludlow Infant School - Traffic Control

Since July 2017, and the very sad passing of Mrs Bowen who worked as a lollypop lady for over 35 Years, Ludlow Infant and Nursery School has been without any traffic slowing measures. After consultation with Shropshire Council, the school has since discovered that it is not classed as a 'crisis' area and there are no plans to put anything in place to stop or even slow traffic down due to funding.
Having viewed this first hand as a parent from the school, it is very clear to see there is an accident or worse, a child's death, simply waiting to happen. Something must be done.
The yellow zig zag lines outside the school gates are fading, the school gates themselves are not clearly visible and there is very very little signage alerting drivers to the risk of our very small children (2yrs - 6yrs) crossing the road.
Please please sign and share this petition widely so that it can be presented to our local MP Phillip Dunn on his visit to the school on 8th June.
The school and Ludlow Town Council would like to see some, if not all, of the following safety measures put in place as a matter of urgency:
- Increased and improved signage
- Speed limit reduced to 20mph
- Zig Zag lines repainted
- Appointment of a lollypop lady/man or a pedestrian crossing
