Stop exploitation of music fans via scalping

The issue

Problem
Music fans all over Australia fall victim to scalpers who purchase excessive concert tickets in order to exploit others.

On 23rd Feb 2019, one of the worlds biggest bands, The Red Hot Chili Peppers are playing at Hope Valley, Polbokin, NSW.
Within minutes this concert had sold out and only a few minutes later scalpers already had listed tickets on scam company Viagogo in excess of x4 the value of the tickets and in some cases, $100 tickets are being offered in excess of $1000 just so scalpers can make a quick profit. This is absolutely immoral and disgusting behaviour which continues as the industry continues unregulated and scalpers are left exploiting fans, many of whom are teenagers with little or no disposable income.

Not only is this morally wrong, its clear exploitation of music fans who were simply just unlucky in not being able to secure tickets.

Solution

I would propose a regulated system similar to how Splendour in the park operates. Tickets must be assigned by name and ID must be shown for venue entry. Any sell on of tickets must be done via point of purchase and done at cost price or less.

I CALL ON THE NSW GOVERNMENT TO STOP THE SCALPERS...
