Letter to: Jeremy Corbyn, Leader of the Labour Party,

Reinstate victimised City of Liverpool College UCU Branch Secretary Gary Duke

On  the 11th August Gary Duke, Trade Unionist and Branch Chair, was suspended by City of Liverpool College on the grounds of alleged Gross Misconduct.

The allegations are not only false but have been fabricated in an attempt to victimise Gary and undermine the Trade Unions in their fight against the imposition of a number of punitive measures and policies brought in by management.

Since Gary’s extensive suspension: 14 weeks, we have seen an increase in the number of disciplinaries brought against members of UCU and in particular Union Reps.

Support for Gary has been established through a long standing demonstration by supporters, staff and students in response to his continued suspension and UCU continue to fight management against continued victimisation of staff at the college

An injury to one is an injury to all.

Please sign the petition and tell CoLC that we will not tolerate this victimisation and to demand Gary’s immediate and unconditional reinstatement.
