Fair Resentencing For Darron Moore

Fair Resentencing For Darron Moore

The Issue

On 12-8-2006 Darron Moore (Dizzy) was involved in a raid in Lubbock, Texas. A warrant was obtained as a result of fabricated statements. During the raid less than 17 grams of cocaine was confiscated. These drugs did not belong to Mr. Moore. The owner of the drugs accepted full responsibility for them, both at the scene of the raid and to the judge who was appointed to this case. That person was sent to prison as a result of those drugs, so I ask why 11 years later is Darron Moore still sitting in prison for drugs that did not belong to him? That's right, on 7-29-2009 Darron Moore was sentenced to 99 (NINETY-NINE) years in prison for the very same drugs that someone else confirmed were theirs, someone who has also done their time in prison and has since been long released. During his incarceration Darron has taken classes available to him and he has not had any major cases. He has had a couple of minor cases for being out of place and not reporting to work. I say that to say, that Darron has been eligible for parole for 7 years now, yet the Texas Board of Parole has denied him for 7 consecutive years. I have started this petition in the hopes of getting Darron fair resentencing. Darron is a non violent offender who has served 11 years on his 99 year sentence. He has served enough time for a crime that he did not commit. We are asking that Darron be released with his sentence commuted to 11 years time served. We ask that you please stand in solidarity with us. Sign this petition and help us to get justice for Darron Moore! Darron desperately needs to get home to his little boys and his younger sister who need him now more than ever, as well as his mother and grandmother who's health is deteriorating. I want to thank you in advance for your signature! Together we can take a stand to end mass incarceration!! God Bless
