There is insufficient parking at LSU for the number of residents who live there. On the east side of campus, the new dorms have caused parking to be diminished even more and become more stressful. For East Campus Apartments (ECA), a carpool line for the adjacent U-High runs through the parking lot twice a day which blocks people from using it or getting out. So many times there are people who stay in their car waiting for others to leave so they could park. Sometimes parking can become available in the UREC lot, but that means walking a quarter of campus to get to your apartment or waiting for a transit. Either way it is bad for the resident especially at night. For ECA specifically, U-High needs to change it's carpool line to account the residents who live and park there. For everyone who lives on campus, enough spaces need to be allotted to each building and in close proximity to allow students ease of access or lower the $182 parking fee as the hassle is obviously not worth the price.
