Clackmannanshire Council has put forward a proposal to stop the funding of the Cochrane Hall in Alva, which if agreed by Councillors could see the building close as early as September.

This is a hall that is at the very heart of the community and is well used by every age group and has been a strong part of the identity of the area for generations. Removing funding would have a negative impact on the local community who would lose a prominent, vital asset.  

We believe that this is the wrong decision and call upon every Councillor in Clackmannanshire to vote against any budget that includes the removal of funding of the Cochrane Hall in Alva.
