We, the students of LPS Hayward, are signing a petition to change the administration of Leadership Public Schools because of lack of leadership and because they are taking off the LPS values that are the reason why we are in these schools. In the letter we mention a few aspects as: 

1- Lack of strategies to deal with the Covid 19 pandemic and the school safety for the first two months of school. 

2- Firing our principal Ernest Peterson that led the school very well through the pandemic communicating greatly with parents, students and staff. We just heard the principal  was not returning a month before starting this school year. 

3- A lot of teachers and staff members are leaving the school due to the non leadership and the non positive changes. 

4- We have spent months with a couple of classes without teachers. With our other teachers playing the role of substitutes it’s clear teachers are overwhelmed because they have no time to prepare or rest. 

5- Students and parents of the LPS Oakland, LPS Richmond and LPS Hayward must be part of the LPS Board.

6- Members of the LPS Board that are not part of our community cannot be members of the board at all. We want the LPS board to engage with the community and we believe a member who is not from the community won’t satisfy those needs.

7- We do not want a superintendent that obviously does not know our values and community. We are strongly requesting the removal of the LPS superintendent Patt Saddler. We are posting this on all platforms until we are heard and the Superintendent and her crew in the Home office are removed of this responsibility.

If we are not heard we will continue to fight for Everyone! Students of the three LPS sites, Oakland, Hayward and Richmond sign out our petition, go to the LPS members board website and add your comments. Let us recover our values. Let us protect our schools.
