A strong athletic programs brings much benefit to the community, alumni, and current students affiliated with Loyola. The recent national success of the basketball program has shown how strong the Loyola community can become when success is seen. Thousands of alumni became reconnected and closer to their school than they had been in years. The success even translated into higher numbers of applications the school received and higher quality in the students being obtained. As one of the largest Jesuit institutions in the nation, Loyola University Chicago could see immense benefits in many different aspects of the institution with the addition of a football program. Not only would this program be a success with the Loyola community, there is reasonable cause to believe that this program would find high levels of support from the Rogers Park and Chicago community at large. This would be the only NCAA division I program in the city of Chicago. The presence of this team would spike local interest in the university and its athletic teams. Expanding and improving the Loyola brand on the national scale would be a major step in bringing Loyola the status a top ranking national university. Bring Rambler football back to Loyola and Chicago!
