In these unprecedented times of COVID-19, we understand LMU's struggle to make decisions that are best for both the happiness and wellness of its students and community. There are many unknowns about what the future will hold, but the graduating Class of 2020 is asking that LMU postpone, not cancel, the commencement ceremony.

To support the LMU Class of 2020, we ask that you sign this petition and show your support to our Senior, graduating class. We have had so many special events taken away from us, through no fault of the school, all we are asking is that we can be assured that LMU at least waits before making any decisions about our upcoming commencement ceremony. (Virtual graduation is the equivalent of cancellation.) 

After seeing announcements of other schools' commencements becoming "virtual," our fear is that LMU will follow in their footsteps. This is a very important final day for LMU's Class of 2020, and all we have left of our senior year. All we are asking is that the school hears our concerns before making any drastic decisions. Postponed is better than nothing.
