We, the residents of Lake Sagamore in the Town of Kent Cliffs, NY, are requesting that the Town of Kent authorize the lowering of the speed limit on Old Forge Drive and Sagamore Drive for 30 mph to 25 mph and furthermore authorize the erection of speed limit signs informing drivers of this change. These two roads, which encircle the lake, are a main thoroughfare for pedestrians and cyclists, creating a dangerous condition when drivers are traveling near the current speed limit of 30 mph. 95% of the homes on these two roads are members of the Lake Sagamore Community Association, which has endorsed this change by unanimous vote at its annual meeting on June 25, 2023.
