EpiPens have an effective ingredient inside of them- epinephrine. It narrows blood vessels and opens airways in the lungs. The medical devices are used in case of an emergency anaphylaxis, like an allergic reaction. These save lives, and many have more than one of them around.

The price of EpiPens are often out of reach for many patients. The costs have gone from less than $100 to $600 for a two-pack. Some people have health insurance, making a significant impact in the pricing. However, lots of people don’t, and have resorted to getting pre-filled syringes with the epinephrine inside it. This practice can be dangerous- even life threatening. If you don’t get enough, it’ll have no effect.

One mom needed four of them, because her son had a milk allergy so bad he couldn’t leave the house without a mask. It cost $1,212. This scenario is one of the extreme example of people struggling to cope with the rising costs.

This petition is to raise awareness that these costs need to lower. The US medicine prices have always been higher, (EpiPens in France cost around $85 a pair!) but the cost of an ordinary EpiPen is way to much. We need to stop this increase, and help people in need of the medicine get to it.
