We are Make a Difference Sussex, a campaign group created by a team of young people from the National Citizen Service (known as NCS) who live in the West Sussex area. We aim to raise awareness on local and national issues that affect communities in our area and aspire to create change.

With our first campaign, 'FairFares', we aim to address the issue of expensive train fares for post 16 students when accessing our 'free' education.

College students travelling from Littlehampton to Chichester (a 20 minute journey) are charged with an amount of £752 per year, with trips from Littlehampton to Brighton (a 50 minute journey) reaching a staggering £2336 per year.

We believe that this is a major issue that has a large impact on young people as the rising train fares eclipse rising pay and job availability.
