I'm writing this out of deep concern for the safety of my family, my animals, and my neighbours on Fen Road. Imagine driving on our horses waggons and carts, only to be threatened by vehicles zooming past at 60 miles per hour. That's the predicament my daughter and I find ourselves in every day. There have already been numerous crashes in front of my property, where my horses are kept. A life could be lost because of this high-speed traffic—be it a human life, or the life of one of our beloved horses.

Fen Road is not a highway—it's a rural road in a peaceful village, where people and animals should be able to move around without feeling in constant danger. Research shows that reducing speed limits in rural areas can result in fewer accidents. According to the World Health Organization, a 5% cut in average speed can result in a 30% reduction in fatal road accidents.

By lowering the speed limit from 60 MPH to 40 MPH on Fen Road, we can increase the safety rate for all who live here, human and animal alike. We owe it to ourselves and future generations to do everything in our power to prevent unnecessary accidents or fatalities.
