The past couple days has been eventful and figured that it should be shared on this petition as it could leave with more informed voting. The longest ever government shutdown just ended after 43 days. The longest one previously was during Trump's first term from December 2018 to January 2019 that lasted 35 days. I'm not somebody who just wants point at a party. Technically Republicans control a majority in both chambers of Congress and the White House but need 60 in the Senate and we don't have enough republicans in the Senate. Could say it could be bad leadership on the Republicans end by failing to negotiate and compromise with democrats and they could realize they don't need to appease to every democrat but just enough to reach 60. Or could say democrats don't want to vote like they need to to reopen the government like they need to. I do support withholding pay from Congress during shutdown as I feel like it could be a good motivator to pass stuff on time. As well, I ask, why should Congress get paid when other people with positions in the government don't.
Also, Representative Adelita Grijalva from Arizona had been sworn in and she was the final signature to force a vote for the release of the Epstein Files. I do support the release as I feel like any guilty people involved with Epstein should be prosecuted. I feel like that nobody, and I mean nobody, should be opposed to releasing the files. I feel like you support pedophiles if you don't support it. You are saying pedophiles SHOULD NOT be exposed. If they aren't exposed, no way they will be prosecuted for being pedophiles in the first place. releasing the files will be good enough evidence to convict anyone for being a pedophile. It doesn't matter to me who it could incriminate, democrats or republicans. If someone I support is revealed as a pedophile, I will gladly stop supporting them. I feel like anyone else should agree.
The penny has been discontinued production. I have seen that the pennies that are are already in circulation will still be legal tender, just any new pennies won't be minted. We just won't see pennies that will be dated 2026 or later. I could see that it could help save taxpayers some money as apparently what it costs to make a penny is more than what a penny is worth at 1 cent.
I figured since all that was federal and voting could include what is at the federal level, it could be shared. I figure a good way to end this off before sharing other petitions is by saying try your best to share to get more signatures and try to contact your people in both chambers of Congress.
