Lower the Fine for Cannabis in Kenosha to $1

Lower the Fine for Cannabis in Kenosha to $1
The Issue
- Kenosha's City Council will be voting on lowering the fine for cannabis possession to $1 on June 5th.
- 72% of Kenoshans voted to legalize at the State level last year, and 88% voted for medical in 2018.
- The City can't legalize (only the State can), but the City can lower the fine to $1 just like many others have done (Green Bay, La Crosse, Eau Claire, Milwaukee County, Stevens Point, Madison, etc). Kenosha’s current fine is up to $750.
- But some alderpersons are pushing back, so we need your support to help pass this bill. Let's send a strong message to the Council and remind them that the people have spoken.
- Please also email aldermen@kenosha.org to share your support with the entire Council.
