Parents should be able to make the decision on whether their kid should be able to see a rated R movie based on if they think they are mature enough. Not based on if the Motion Picture Association of America thinks it is ok for a person under 17 is mature enough to see a movie. Michael experienced this problem when Anthony wanted to see a movie with his friends and needed an adult to see the movie. Michael doesn’t want to sit in the theater a few rows behind Anthony and Michael knows that Anthony did not want Michael in the theater either.
