LOWER ALCOHOL GUIDELINES TO HELP LOWER LEVELS OF ALCOHOLISM ON THE PLANET

The Issue

THE UK AND EUROPE IS MAINLY FULL OF ALCOHOLIC ADULTS!! EVERY SINGLE DAY AND EVENING THEY SURROUND THEMSELVES WITH ALCOHOL, THEY SELL IT, THEY SERVE IT THROUGHOUT THE DAY AND THEY DRINK IT TOO.

ALCOHOLISM IS A BIG PROBLEM ALL OVER THE CONTINENT AND PLANET. 

Current recommendations and thoughts about alcohol have produced all manner of alcoholic in the UK and Europe. Current recommendations do NOT support the average adult to stay off alcohol most days of the week. Adult men in Europe are struggling to stand up straight by 4pm in the afternoon! By 10pm some look like they are walking on a ship in a storm! By age 30, some adult males have lost half or all their teeth! By age 30, many adult males are half bald and needing glasses. Many women have doubled in size in their 20s and 30s partly because of high levels of alcohol consumption and need glasses too.

Current recommendations on alcohol consumption in the UK on the Drinkaware website and NHS websites are for adults to have maximum 14 units of alcohol every week. But these sorts of guidelines have produced mainly alcoholic adults all over the country and MANY health problems.  Now many adults stink of alcohol by 8pm. Now the country has rising rates of obesity. The health reports are terrible.

WE NEED BETTER RECOMMENDATIONS ON ALCOHOL CONSUMPTION. 

WE SHOULD ENCOURAGE PEOPLE TO STAY OFF ALCOHOL MOST DAYS OF THE WEEK. 

IT IS FAR BETTER IF PEOPLE DO NOT DRINK ALCOHOL FOR 5 DAYS A WEEK AND ONLY DRINK IT ON MAXIMUM 2 DAYS A WEEK. 

WE SHOULD ENCOURAGE PEOPLE TO HAVE MAXIMUM 6 OR 7 UNITS OF ALCOHOL IN A TYPICAL WEEK. THEY SHOULD HAVE MAX 1 ALCOHOLIC DRINK IN A TYPICAL DAY. 

THIS IS LESS THAN HALF THE AMOUNT OF ALCOHOL THE NHS AND DRINKAWARE WEBSITE CURRENTLY RECOMMEND. 

THIS SHOULD IMPROVE THE SITUATION. IT SHOULD IMPROVE PEOPLE'S ORAL HEALTH, MENTAL HEALTH AND GENERAL HEALTH. IT WILL HELP PEOPLE TO LEAD HEALTHIER, HAPPIER, MORE PRODUCTIVE AND LONGER LIVES. 

It can help produce adults with mouths FULL of HEALTHY, ADULT TEETH FOR LIFE, into one's 80s! 

It can help to produce men and women with heads full of hair rather than causing lots of hair loss all over the UK and Europe from people's 20s. 

It can help improve people's eyesight and there will be less need for glasses or contact lenses.  

It can help people to stay in a healthier BMI range and to reduce the levels of obesity in the continent linked to high or daily consumption of alcohol. 

It will help people be more in shape and active rather than very large and sedentary. 

It should help improve coordination skills, memory, speaking skills and reaction times. These are important in life to help prevent accidents and injuries, to get good jobs, to drive safely, to keep oneself and others safe.

It should help improve language and social skills producing happier relationships, friendships and marriages.

It should help reduce the number of children born with health complications. 

It should help reduce the number of hospital admissions, hospital appointments or need for drugs and therapies.

This system encourages people to FOCUS ON PREVENTION RATHER THAN CURE.  

Current UK guidelines state that adults should aim to have maximum 14 units of alcohol per week. But that is a high amount of alcohol. The UK and many European countries are now FULL OF ALCOHOLICS that drink alcohol most days of the week. The health reports are full of terrible statistics, of all manner of health and relationship problems caused by regular consumption of alcohol. There are health reports linking regular consumption of alcohol to poor mental health, liver problems, rotten teeth in one's 20s and even early deaths. 

All teenagers and adults in Europe are surrounded by alcohol every 3rd shop and in most restaurants, in all pubs and bars, in all supermarkets and convenience stores. Alcohol is sold from the morning to the evening every single day. Alcohol consumption is so high that most teenagers from my Christian high school in London were alcoholics by the time they left school at the age of 16 or 18. They reached for alcohol ANY afternoon or evening we spent together and would continue to drink throughout the evening until it was time to go home. They were sometimes choosing to put 5+ pints of beer in their bodies in one evening plus many cigarettes and if there was food about it was mainly unhealthy junk food! 

It is not a good situation if most adults in the UK and Europe reach for alcohol most days of the week and are alcoholics. It does not help people have healthy lives, happy lives and relationships, great friendships or a happy future. 

WE MUST IMPROVE THE CURRENT GUIDELINES AND RECOMMENDATIONS ON ALCOHOL CONSUMPTION TO IMPROVE THE SITUATION, TO HELP LOWER THE HIGH LEVELS OF ALCOHOLISM IN THE UK AND EUROPE. 

I THINK ALCOHOL CONSUMPTION GUIDELINES SHOULD ENCOURAGE PEOPLE TO STAY OFF ALCOHOL MOST DAYS OF EACH WEEK.  Adults should be encouraged TO STAY BELOW 6 or 7 UNITS OF ALCOHOL A WEEK which is about 3 pints of beer or 3 medium glasses of wine a week. Nobody needs more alcohol than that in a typical week!

It is about half the amount of alcohol that guidelines currently recommend.  

This needs to be taught in high schools and printed on posters all over the continent and planet to support people to stay off alcohol most days of the year. 

This would help produce healthier, happier children who live healthier, happier and longer lives. It would help give them a better chance in life. It would help prevent various birth defects. It would help support them to have better mental health and happier relationships. It would help them find better jobs and have better futures.

SUPPORT PARENTS AND GRANDPARENTS TO STAY OFF ALCOHOL ON A TYPICAL DAY. IT IS NOT NICE IF A PARENT OR GRANDPARENT IS AN ALCOHOLIC AND IS REACHING FOR ALCOHOL EVERY DAY RUINING THEIR OWN LIFE AND HAPPINESS FOR NO GOOD REASON.
