Save Trinity Gardens and George’s Street from the Greedy Developers.

The Issue

We are seeking to protect the built heritage of the Trinity Gardens and George’s Street quarter by ensuring that development in the area is sympathetic to the existing built environment, both in terms of architectural design and population density.

Our unique, settled low rise area is under threat from a proposed development that will overshadow and dwarf the existing buildings in the area and lead to increased traffic and parking issues in an already congested area.

In order for this project to proceed the historic entrance to our 90 year old estate will be destroyed and lost forever, and will cause irreparable damage to the fabric of our community.

Too much of Drogheda’s built heritage has been destroyed by unsuitable development over a number of decades and we are sending a strong message that this process needs to be stopped.

We simply ask that the community be involved in a pre planning consultation processeswith property developers and Louth County Council in relation to developments to ensure that they meet housing needs while blending into the existing built environment.
