Repeal Sen. Bill Cassidy's license to practice medicine

The Issue

Senator Bill Cassidy did in 1983, in order to gain licensure, swear to the age old oath of all physicians to "First, do no harm".  The obligation of licensed physicians to abide by the tenets of the hippocratic oath, whether in current practice or not, is universal.  All aspects of a physicians life must adhere to this oath in order for patients to have faith in the medical community.

There are many examples of physicians who have lost their license to practice medicine based on support for poor medical policies, namely, physicians who advocate that patients should not vaccinate children.  Senator Cassidy, a licensed physician in the state of Louisiana, has advocated a public policy which will do horrendous harm to the people of the state of Louisiana by removing billions in dollars of healthcare subsidies and Medicaid spending to the most vulnerable citizens.  This will result in thousands of needless deaths for lack of access to healthcare.

Senator and Doctor Cassidy has a right to support any political position he desires but he does not have the right to use his position as a licensed physician to influence medical policy that is horrendous, will cause needless deaths and harm to fellow citizens of Louisiana, and indeed the whole of the United States.  His bill to "repeal and replace" the Affordable Care Act has been condemned by both the American Medical Association and the American Hospital Association and every other medical advocacy group that has taken a position.

We the petitioners demand that his medical license be immediately revoked and not used to support medical policy that will do extreme harm.
