Animal abuse needs to be taken more seriously. No animal should suffer due to someone abusing them for fun. It's absolutely sick. Louisiana law does order abusers to not own anymore pets. However, it's only for a certain period of time. It should be not at all. The abuser isn't going to stop torturing animals just because they couldn't have them for a certain amount of time. Lousiana, if you don't seem to have any interest in helping animals, you should know a lot of killers of humans have started with animals. A watch list will potentially save both animals and humans from murder. A public registry would help animal shelters prevent sales to abusers. It also allows neighbors with pets to take extra precaution in protecting their pets. I hope this can be successful and a victory for animals and their owners who actually love them.
