Save The Katrina Rescue Boat in Jackson Square!!! Act Quick!

The Issue

The Rescue Boat in Jackson Square at the Presbytere is the last preserved relic of the Katrina rescue effort that residents and visitors alike can visit for free. Yet, the political aspirations of a few have decided that it has to be moved 4 years before its scheduled to be moved. This boat is the number 1 attraction in the entire Louisiana State Museum system. The average person walking by cannot walk past without wondering why a modern fishing boat is posted in such a perfectly preserved old building. It doesn't take anyone longer than a quick glance to realize that this is a piece of Katrina. They stop, walk in through the gate and can hear a quick retelling and a few pictures of how things were in those harrowing days. They will hear how we as citizens, helped ourselves. They will see that the military came in and depended on those citizens to assist in the 2nd wave rescues. They will realize that the New Orleans people did indeed do great things to help each other during the storm. Don't let politics take away our last displayed relic of the relief effort. Don't let them move this boat. Don't let them change a thing! Save The Rescue Boat In Jackson Square!
